Darlo 2023:
Always Evolving
Part theatre company,
part experience maker
Darlo stands for radical empowerment and inclusion. Our artists have free reign to take up space, and we invite Australia’s finest performance makers through our doors to create a unique line-up of new forms and new ideas.
Darlo is always evolving, so in 2023 we’re doing things differently. We’re presenting three bespoke seasonal launches throughout the year:
Summer: Radical Acts of Joy
December - March
Autumn/Winter: Stories to Warm Your Soul
March - August
Spring/Summer: Theatre of Tomorrow
September - December
Your year has been expertly curated to deliver a dynamic program that changes with the seasons and adapts to our evolving cultural consciousness. Expect blockbuster musicals, award-winning plays, form-defying festivals and thought-provoking new work.
Welcome to 2023, a season for all who delight in stimulating storytelling and electric entertainment.
2023 Program
In 2023 we're serving up a sizzling program of events from first-class international, interstate and local acts guaranteed to spark joy.
In Summer, we’re taking part in two major summer festivals: Sydney Festival and Sydney WorldPride, and invite you to join us in our mini festival hub for stories that will make you feel energised and empowered. We’re also bringing back our popular Thirsty Thursdays hosted by Andrew Bukenya, and are welcoming Utp’s world premiere of Nancy Denis’ new show M'ap Boulé.
Autumn/Winter is our season of spectacle! We’re making our highly-anticipated Melbourne debut with Once the Musical at the Comedy Theatre, before touring it to HOTA on the Gold Coast. At our home - the Eternity Playhouse - in Sydney, we’re producing the Australian premiere of the 12 time Tony award-nominated electro pop-opera Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812.
And Spring is the season of growth and renewal, so we’re bringing you a season of new work development and presenting the powerful new show RECKŌNING, which recently blew away audiences and critics at the Melbourne Fringe Festival.
Whether you're seeking music, cabaret, storytelling, spectacle or uplifting new work, our 2023 program is a lucky dip of unmissable events that will keep you coming back for more sweet treats.
