Our statement on COVID-19
Our dancers are all warmed up and we’re so excited to welcome our first audience tonight for our production of A Chorus Line.
We know there is considerable interest in the community around the containment of COVID19, and what it means for live performance venues across the country.
The health and safety of our artists, employees and guests is always our first priority, and we’re closely following the advice of the various medical authorities including the Australian Department of Health and NSW Health. Based on their current recommendations, performances will continue as scheduled in our small 200-seat venue.
Out of an abundance of caution and care, we’ve stepped up our venue cleaning procedures. The auditorium is thoroughly cleaned following each show, including wipe down of high-touch surfaces like armrests and handrails with a hospital-grade disinfectant. Bathrooms, bar and dining areas are also cleaned at regular intervals before, during and after each performance. The current advice from the various health authorities is that good hygiene, including hand washing, is the best form of prevention. Hand sanitiser is also provided for use throughout the venue.
If you’re feeling unwell or have any symptoms such as fever, cough, runny nose or shortness of breath please stay at home. If you have any concerns please do not hesitate to contact our team at theatre@darlinghursttheatre.com.
For now, the show must go on and we‘re all looking forward to sharing this very special production with you.
