Darlinghurst Theatre Company is looking for an Executive Director to join our team from January 2022 in this newly created role currently held by our Founder, Glenn Terry.
OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:
The Executive Director position is an exciting leadership role, working in collaboration with the Artistic Director and Board to lead, grow and strengthen DTC, providing strategic, operational and financial leadership in support of our artistic programs. We are at an extraordinary and exciting time in the Company’s rich 28-year history. The Executive Director position presents an opportunity to play a critical role in taking the company through its next ambitious stage with our passionate, dedicated and talented team.
The key aspects of the ED role are to:
Provide the board high-end leadership advice and proposals on both the short-term and long-term strategic direction of the organisation
Identify, instigate and act upon funding, philanthropic, business and commercial opportunities to grow and diversify revenue streams
Support the Artistic Director in the development of the annual program and artistic opportunities for current and new programs
Hold financial oversight and management of the organisation
Manage key stakeholder relationships including with funders, donors and partners
Champion and implement DTC’s Access, Equity and Inclusion policies
Strengthen and extend the visibility, brand awareness and reach of the company and venue
Manage the Eternity Playhouse’s operations and lease with the City of Sydney
Implement our HR policies – including recruitment, contracting and wellbeing policies
Ensure the efficient and effective use of company resources to meet capacity and outputs
Provide Managerial oversight of operations
Manage HR, governance and compliance responsibilities.
