THEATRE 19

Theatre 19 is a new season of independent theatre featuring brand new works by some of Sydney's most exciting companies.

While Darlinghurst Theatre Company's energies are focused on fitting out and opening its new theatre the Eternity Playhouse, these companies will be making good use of the company's current venue in Potts Point. The season includes: The Greening of Grace written and directed by well-known Australian artist William Zappa (Winter's Discontent, The Seafarer) and starring Maggie Blinco; the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play, Glengarry Glen Ross presented by new independent cooperative, SeriousBoys Theatre; Dirty Blonde about the legendary stage and screen actress Mae West directed by Stuart Maunder (The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Dusty, Shout!); Tinderbox, a dramatic new production by Tredwood Productions about fire and its emotional impact; and a bold new adaptation of the Tony Award-winning Torch Song Trilogy directed by Stephen Colyer (The Paris Letter), which will be presented as part of Mardi Gras 2013. We encourage you to get along to Darlinghurst Theatre and experience the work of some of Sydney's most exciting independent artists.
