A cashed up comedy about the credit crunch and a couple in crisis

Matt and Bec have been married for seven years… and we all know what that means. He wants a raise. She wants her cushions fluffed. He keeps fingering his car keys. She spends hours staring into the back yard longing for a new deck. If only they hadn’t started scratching The Unspeakable Itch.

Drew Fairley and Kate Smith, creators of the hit shows Bangers and Mash and The No Chance in Hell Hotel return to Darlinghurst Theatre Company with this cashed up comedy about the credit crunch and a couple in crisis. Featuring Smith and Fairley’s trademark tongue-in-cheek comedy and larger than life characters, The Unspeakable Itch is a comic tale about one couple’s quest to have it all, no matter what the cost.

“Fairley and Smith combine sly wit and impeccable timing… first-rate entertainment.” Sydney Morning Herald

"Fast-paced comedic timing and witty and rapid-fire dialogue keep us amused in this over-the-top parody of popular culture." Oz Baby Boomers

"Kate Smith & Drew Fairley play Matt and Bec with all the absurdity of middle class Australian Bogans... it’s all part of the charm though and you’ll laugh until your belly hurts." City Hub
