Over the years, Darlinghurst Theatre Company has had a connection to our local community in support of disadvantaged people. From 2001 to 2010 our company developed Milk Crate Theatre into a stand-alone theatre company that works with homeless and disadvantaged people.
Darlinghurst Theatre Company is sharing the love of theatre with those who can’t afford to attend. Share the Love is an initiative promoting inclusion and access in the arts and we are thrilled to be continuing Share the Love in our 2018 season.
Darlinghurst Theatre Company will distribute tickets to youths, adults and seniors experiencing financial difficulty and hardship.
If you would like to support, you can buy a Share the Love ticket for a financially disadvantaged person for $44 and it’s a tax deductible donation.
Darlinghurst Theatre Company will distribute Share the Love tickets and we’ll give you an update after the performance.
For the first 200 Share the Love tickets purchased, we are thrilled to announce, JT Reid Charitable Trusts will match contributions so that twice as many people can attend!

Thanks to our supporters, in 2017 we distributed 794 Share the Love theatre tickets. Many attendees had never been to a theatre performance before and were so excited by the experience and valued it immensely.
This year we distributed Share the Love tickets to client groups from organisations including:
- The Wayside Chapel
- Wesley Edward Eagar Lodge
- Kirketon Road Centre
- Exodus Foundation
- Mathew Talbot Hostel
- The Bourke Street Project
We also distributed Share the Love tickets to young people from the Waranara Centre in Marrickville and to disadvantages people in the LGBTQI community through ACON and the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation. We also distributed tickets to senior theatre artists supported by Actor's Benevolent and to theatre artists who are in receipt of centre-link.
Share the Love is supported by Creative Partnerships Australia through Plus1 and JT Reid Charitable Trust.
