HELP US TO STAGE THE PARIS LETTER

Darlinghurst Theatre Company is producing the Australian Premiere of The Paris Letter by Jon Robin Baitz in association with the 2012 Mardi Gras Festival, to be directed by Stephen Colyer ( No Way to Treat a Lady, Kiss of the Spider Woman ).

We are very fortunate and honoured to have secured the rights to stage this extraordinary play. Jon Robin Baitz is the creator and producer of hit TV Series Brothers and Sisters , award-winning author of the play and later film, The Substance of Fire as well as writer of the current Broadway triumph, Other Desert Cities . He is recognised as one of America's foremost contemporary playwrights.

The Paris Letter explores the theme of sexuality and the changing attitudes towards gay relationships over the last fifty years in a thrilling tale of trust, friendship and betrayal. Our production will feature an outstanding cast of acting greats Nicholas Papademetriou , Peter Cousens and Susie Lindeman alongside two rising stars, Caleb Alloway and Damian Sommerlad .

As the Director of Darlinghurst Theatre Company, I want to provide our production with the best possible resources. We are seeking to raise $10,000 toward the show’s production budget which includes set, costumes, lighting equipment, creative and performer fees.

We are seeking passionate individuals, couples, groups or businesses to donate $500 or $1,000 to become Production Ambassadors , providing vital support towards the first staging of this important contemporary play in Australia. Our Production Ambassadors will have the unique opportunity to join us at opening night to celebrate the play’s Australian Premiere on Tuesday, 28 February.
