The City of Sydney is renovating the 132 year old heritage listed Burton Street Tabernacle in Darlinghurst to create a state of the art 200 seat theatre. DTC will be the managing company & all Darlo Drama performances will be held there from next year. |
|
| The Eternity Playhouse will preserve DTC’s trademark welcoming & intimate atmosphere. Its planned continental style theatre seating & its beautiful foyer with new wine bar & café/restaurant will enhance the experience of audiences coming to see your performances. | |
| The restoration of the intricate wooden ceiling uncovered during roof repair & stained glass windows will be a permanent tribute to Arthur Stace who chalked ‘Eternity’ on Sydney’s footpaths for over 30 years after hearing a sermon there. Construction commenced in October 2011 & it is set to open in January 2013. | |
| DTC is responsible for the funding and installation of the sound and lighting equipment plus the foyer, kitchen & bar equipment - vital to the success of the Eternity Playhouse - & they’ll be inviting people to contribute to their fundraising campaign in May 2012. DTC will donate the current theatre’s fit-out to the City of Sydney. READ MORE ASK A QUESTION |
