Level 1 - The Monologue                    

                                                                           

Level One is designed for adult beginners of all ages and will build on your strengths and encourage your individuality. You will develop fundamental acting skills & class time is spent 'doing' and 'experiencing'. We will encourage your individual performance as well as your ability to work within a group; both necessary and vital for performance in theatre, TV or film.

Outcome At the conclusion of the course you will perform a monologue taken from a modern play to an audience of family, friends & fellow students on our theatre stage.

Level 2 - The Dialogue                                                   

 

Level Two is an investigation into naturalistic acting techniques that will make your performances more convincing. These techniques will enable you to interpret dialogue, making the most of your script in order to complement your fellow performers on stage as well as engage your audience. The development of characters is also explored.

Outcome This course culminates in a performance of scenes to an audience of family, friends & fellow students on our theatre stage.

The Play

                                                                                  

 

The main focus of The Play is the production of a modern play performed on our theatre stage to an audience. Open to people who have completed Levels One & Two with Darlo Drama or similar courses elsewhere, The Play gives you a fundamental understanding & experience of the processes involved in staging a play, from rehearsal & interpretation to performance. Working as an ensemble, blocking & script analysis is also developed in this course. This course can be repeated as each new play uses different scripts.
